In urban cities, we often come across stray animals and birds in agony but are unable to help them due to want of knowledge or access to right medical facilities. To save the lives of injured stray animals and birds, the Shrimad Rajchandra Animal Helpline was launched in December 2015 under the Animal Care programme of Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care. This service has treated over 9000 stray animals and birds in Mumbai till date.
Shrimad Rajchandra District Early Intervention Centre has been striving continuously to prevent or minimise physical and neurological disabilities in young children and has been recognised as a Model Centre by the Government of Gujarat. Having gradually developed into a Centre of Learning, it has been regularly conducting training workshops and sharing best practices with medical professionals.
Celebrating World Environment Day, Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care partnered with the Indian Consulate General, Sydney and Blacktown City, New South Wales to organise a tree plantation drive. In due commemoration of the 150th birth anniversary year of Mahatma Gandhiji and in honour of his global message of non-violence – the event was aptly titled ‘Trees for Peace’.
Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care been working tirelessly to help less-privileged students from rural areas fulfil their dreams of attaining quality education. An important tool in this pursuit of education is the affordability and availability of quality educational aids. One of the landmark projects under the Educational Care programme is Shrimad Rajchandra Educational Aids, through which notebooks and stationery items are distributed at highly subsidised rates to students across India over the last 15 years. Since inception, educational aids worth over Rs. 45 crores have been distributed to students. Several students and their families even travel over 100kms to purchase these items, to avail benefit of the good quality and substantially lower price.
Volunteers of Chennai centre periodically visit the Sadhana Deaf and Dumb School for humanitarian initiatives. Over the months of February and April, food distribution drives were organised and monthly rations of daily essentials such as rice, dal, oil, sugar, tea, coffee and milk powder, etc. were supplied to the school. These essentials are extremely helpful in preparing the breakfast and dinner for the students of the residential school.
