Shrimad Rajchandra Gurukul has been playing an important role in training and knowledge-sharing amongst local educational institutions. It started with providing academic support to children from standards 1 to 9 of over 40 schools through the Education on Wheels and Educational Outreach programmes. Before the 10th standard board examinations last year, Shrimad Rajchandra Gurukul was approached by the District Education Officer, Valsad (DEO) to help improve the academic results of underperforming government schools. This project covered 37 schools and 1,700 students. In order to provide coaching and mentorship to the students, teaching staff of Shrimad Rajchandra Gurukul regularly visited the schools to share resources and strategies. This initiative resulted in the improvement of the performance of these schools.
Seeing the positive impact it made, the DEO enlisted the support of Shrimad Rajchandra Gurukul to launch a new initiative that will benefit more than 16,000 students across 160 government schools in Valsad district. As part of this initiative, Shrimad Rajchandra Gurukul conducted an aptitude test to understand the learning levels of students of standard 9 across the schools. Further, a bridge course was conducted for students of these schools to improve their learning levels in subjects like English, Maths and Science. Shrimad Rajchandra Gurukul will be working closely with the 9th and 10th standard students to help them prepare for their exams.
