For the tribal and farming population in rural South Gujarat, access to quality and accessible animal medical care was extremely scarce. After the opening of Shrimad Rajchandra Animal Nursing Home, a facility that provides medical care to animals and birds at no cost or at highly subsidised rates, several farmers and animals began availing its quality medical services.
With people coming from far and wide, Shrimad Rajchandra Nursing Home received an overwhelming response and soon started operating at full capacity. A critical need for in-patient services and post-operative care for complex cases was noted. The lack of such facilities, was forcing farmers to often abandon sick animals or sell them to slaughterhouses. And, for the tribal families here, losing an animal often means losing their livelihood. It was identified that a facility providing end-to-end treatment for all kinds of animals under one roof, would significantly improve the well-being of thousands of animals as well as increase the quality of life of the local community.
Envisaged by Pujya Gurudevshri’s compassion, the plan for Shrimad Rajchandra Animal Hospital was unveiled in 2021. This 150-bed multi-speciality animal hospital, spread across 47,000 sq. ft., is all set to break all barriers and become the pioneer institute in India for animal healthcare.

Pujya Gurudevshri envisaged this facility to be at the forefront of animal medicine, so the project began by conducting a deep comparative study on all the existing facilities across India and the globe.
The result of this extensive research and development, is that Shrimad Rajchandra Animal Hospital will truly be a one-of-its-kind facility in the entire country, having several cutting-edge facilities under one roof. The expert team of doctors here will also be equipped to perform orthopaedic, maternal and complex cancer surgeries.
It will be amongst the few hospitals in India to offer services such as 24×7 OPD and IPD, dialysis for animals, a blood bank, laser therapy treatment, animal prosthesis, cancer treatments, laparoscopy and endoscopies – all under one roof. A wounded monkey that needed immediate medical attention was recently referred to Shrimad Rajchandra Animal Nursing Home by the Valsad Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (VSPCA). The animal was in extreme pain, with indications of a traumatic eye injury.
