In August 2018, severe floods affected the state of Kerala in India due to unusually high rainfall during the monsoon season. In what was to be Kerala’s worst flood in nearly a century, many people died within a fortnight while thousands were displaced. All the districts of the state were placed on high alert. The destruction to infrastructure and property was on an unimaginable scale. Animals also suffered due to the severity of the calamity.
Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care responded to this dire situation by providing immediate relief to the victims by distributing food-grains, clothes and daily essentials to individual houses, relief camps, village interiors and even a home for the mentally challenged. Several volunteers also extended their support through financial contributions as well as donations in kind of essential relief items such as food grains, clothes, utensils etc.
