Surgical procedure to relieve a dog from tongue tumour!
A 4-year-old, male Labrador was presented with a tongue tumor, a relatively infrequent occurrence in domestic animals, constituting less than 4% of oral and pharyngeal tumors. The predominant type, Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC), accounts for 50% of cases. The patient underwent a subtotal glossectomy (surgical removal of all or part of the tongue) under general anaesthesia, alleviating the dog’s pain.
