Shrimad Rajchandra Water Conservation Programme

Shrimad Rajchandra Water Conservation Programme implements measures to conserve water.

Less than 1% of all the water on earth is suitable for drinking. More than a billion people in the world do not have access to safe water, and in rural areas, 4 out of 5 people do not have access. Water scarcity is only going to intensify into the future, as global consumption of water has been doubling every 20 years, more than twice the rate of human population growth. If the current trends persist, by 2025 the demand for freshwater is expected to rise by 56% more than what is currently available. This will result in as much as 2/3rd of the world’s population being unable to access clean water.

To increase awareness in the community about the importance of conserving water, we undertake campaigns to teach farmers, business owners and local villagers about ways to save this precious natural resource. We also mobilise teams of volunteers that knock on people’s doors and offer to check and fix any leaking taps!
