Shrimad Rajchandra Mobile Medical Care is a bringing a dispensary at the doorstep of the underprivileged, which extends medical and dental assistance to tribal people living in rural interiors who cannot reach hospitals or medical camps.
Thousands of people living in tribal communities cannot make it to hospitals or medical camps because they cannot leave work, or do not have the financial means to reach there, or are too old to travel. To improve the basic medical care standards and to provide relief every day, Shrimad Rajchandra Mobile Medical Care Programme sends two teams, each comprising a doctor, a paramedic and trained staff, to visit remote areas of Dharampur, Valsad, Vansda, Chikhli and Kaprada. These teams visit tribal people in their homes and provide free medical assistance. We currently oversee 65 centres every week – each scheduled for a specific day. More than 75,000 tribal people benefit from this programme every year.
In addition, Shrimad Rajchandra Mobile Dental Clinic was launched to address dental issues in the tribal population. Through this recent initiative, we undertake regular visits by a mobile dental van to remote tribal areas to carry out dental checks by a qualified dentist. The van is fully furnished with a state-of-the art dental chair, portable x-ray machine, ultrasonic scaler, intra-oral camera and all essential accessories for carrying out dental procedures. Through this programme, we provide on-the-spot treatment for common dental problems such as tooth decay, cavities, swollen/painful gums, bleeding/infected gums and ulcers. All services provided under this programme are completely free. The project also focuses on treating pre-schoolers in the anganwadis and the students of primary, secondary and higher secondary schools. Additionally, simple presentations in local languages educate tribal folk about oral health and hygiene.
