Shrimad Rajchandra Health Education Programme for Adolescent Girls makes the girl child aware of adolescent issues and health-related topics focusing on reproductive health, empowering them to cultivate healthy habits, prevent disease and reduce risky behaviour.
Through health education and instructions, students learn skills that empower them to make healthy choices for the rest of their lives. By teaching adolescent girls about pregnancy, child birth, child care, immunisation, nutrition, hygiene and healthy cooking practices, we hope to strengthen the community by dispelling wrong beliefs and societal stigmas. Moreover, when women are equipped with the right information, they pass on this knowledge to their friends and siblings, and later on, to their children.
These health lessons are not only informative – they are fun and interactive. Lessons are presented with the help of PowerPoint presentations, posters, street plays and traditional folk dances.
