A new first-of-its-kind Jewellery Designing (CAD) course for rural youth was launched a few months ago at Shrimad Rajchandra Skill Development Centre. Recently, an industrial visit to Mumbai was organised along with a convocation ceremony for the graduates of the first batch of this course.
Students visited leading jewellery manufacturing companies and had the opportunity to interact with various management leaders. Thoroughly impressed with the creativity, skill and knowledge of the students, all the candidates received employment offers and have secured themselves a job.
The convocation ceremony was held for the students, in association with the Gem & Jewellery Skill Council of India (GJSCI). The chief guest at the event was Shyam Jagannathan (IAS), Development Commissioner, and the guest of honour was C.P.S. Chauhan (IRS), Joint Development Commissioner, SEEPZ, Mumbai. The Chief Guest and Guest of Honour shared inspirational insights with the candidates and offered guidance on their careers and their journey ahead.
This was a great learning experience for the boys and girls who come from rural areas of Gujarat, and will soon find themselves working in the metropolis of Mumbai!
