The unprecedented floods that swept across South Gujarat between July 20-23, 2026 left a trail of devastation across Valsad district. Record-breaking rainfall inundated villages, damaged homes, disrupted transport and communication, and displaced thousands of families. With the India Meteorological Department issuing a red alert for three consecutive days, communities across the region faced immense hardship as floodwaters submerged homes, roads and public infrastructure.

Through the 2026 Shrimad Rajchandra Educational Aids drive, affordable educational essentials were distributed to over 1.5 lakh students across India ahead of the new academic year. Every year, as the academic calendar resets, families across India brace for the added expense of notebooks, school bags, and stationery. Often, this is a cost that can stretch already limited household budgets, particularly in rural and tribal regions. It is this gap that the Shrimad Rajchandra Educational Aids drive has worked to bridge, year after year.

The establishment of an Intellectual Property (IP) Cell at Shrimad Rajchandra Vidyapeeth by Gujarat Council on Science and Technology (GUJCOST) marks a significant step towards strengthening the institution’s culture of innovation, research, and entrepreneurship. As the premier body under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Gujarat, GUJCOST has played a vital role in promoting scientific advancement, technology development, and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) awareness across the state through its Patent Information Centre.

Sumdariben, a 56 year old mother of four and grandmother of nine, had devoted her life to caring for her family alongside her husband, a farmer who cultivates rice. Living in a modest home with their children and grandchildren, her days were filled with constant responsibility and physical work.

Rubina, a 34-year-old mother of three, had lived with the devastating effects of severe burn injuries for over 14 years. A tragic cooking accident left her left arm, chest, and neck engulfed in flames, resulting in debilitating contractures. Her arm became fused to her side, leaving her unable to extend it or perform even basic movements. Everyday tasks were impossible, and she depended heavily on her husband for household responsibilities.

Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care organised a Kisan Suraksha Abhiyan in Ukta village of Dharampur taluka through which 600 safety boots were distributed to farmers, helping reduce risks such as injuries, infections, and snake bites in challenging field conditions and also during monsoons.

Shrimad Rajchandra Vidyapeeth has marked a significant academic milestone by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Gujarat Biotechnology Research Centre (GBRC), Gandhinagar, a premier institution under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Gujarat. This collaboration positions the institute as the first science college in South Gujarat to establish such an advanced research partnership with GBRC.

In a progressive step towards strengthening veterinary practice in India, Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care’s Educational Care and Animal Care programmes conducted intensive Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses at the Ashram and Shrimad Rajchandra Jivamaitridham. Focused on advanced spinal care, fracture management, radiology, and internal medicine, the courses aimed to enhance clinical expertise through immersive, hands-on learning.

Shrimad Rajchandra Gurukul has been recognised among the top 20 schools across India at the EarthWise Awards for Schools 2026, marking a significant milestone in its journey of environmental stewardship. Organised by the Jane Goodall Institute India in partnership with the Vikram A Sarabhai Community Science Centre and supported by Salesforce, the awards honour institutions creating meaningful environmental impact through innovation and student-led action.Environmental Initiatives Earn National Recognition.

Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care, under its Environmental Care Programme, organised a collaborative event bringing together over 200 children from the remote Turtuk village in Ladakh and those from slums in the Mumbai suburb of Chembur for a day woven with play, learning, and a purpose.
