21-year-old Meera Mehta, volunteer of Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care, was selected as a recipient of the prestigious ‘Diana Award’ in recognition of her outstanding contribution towards uplifting the rural communities of South Gujarat!
Considered as amongst the most prestigious accolades for youth changemakers, the The Diana Award are hosted by The Diana Award Charity to celebrate the social and humanitarian impact of youth icons from across the world.
Inspired by Pujya Gurudevshri, Meera has raised over Rs. 1.5 crores in charity for various projects in the health and education space over her 10-year fundraising journey. Few of these projects include support for Shrimad Rajchandra Hospital – a multispecialty rural charitable hospital, Shrimad Rajchandra Vidyapeeth – a science college for tribal youth, large-scale tree plantation drives, and also a skill development programme for rural women. Even amidst the current COVID-19 pandemic, Meera has upheld her commitment to serve her community, having raised over Rs. 33 lakhs for the ongoing relief activities. With the guidance of Pujya Gurudevshri, Meera Mehta continues to strive to spread love and care to those in need!
