Galvanising the power of youth for social impact

NMIMS’s Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management & Engineering. College of Engineering, Mumbai, partnered with Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care for one of their causes as a part of their annual Serve Out Smiles (SOS), a social impact programme. Over the course of a month, five drives were conducted to distribute food to street children, rag pickers and pavement dwellers across Mumbai. Volunteers taught Jain food recipes to the NMIMS students through pre-recorded professional videos and the students, in turn, prepared and packed the food for onward distribution by volunteers. This drive brought smiles on the faces of more than 1000 less-privileged people while at the same time, instilling values of compassion and joy of sharing in the youth.
