Shrimad Rajchandra Hospital and Research Centre recently organised a diagnostic mental health camp for assessing the overall well-being of people from the tribal areas of South Gujarat.
Patients who visited underwent a diagnostic session with senior doctors, and many patients were diagnosed with disorders ranging from insomnia and depression to schizophrenia. Medication and treatment plans were suggested to help ensure their stability and recovery.
Mental health is rarely taken seriously in rural areas, where such patients are often left uncared for. Shrimad Rajchandra Hospital and Research Centre has an established department of Psychiatry and Psychology, that routinely spreads awareness and educates the rural population on topics of mental health, its disorders and need for treatment.
