Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) is the Government of India’s initiative to develop a comprehensive digital health ecosystem. ABDM aims to bridge the gap among various stakeholders in the healthcare sector. It facilitates the creation of a unique health identifier for every citizen, known as the Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA), and supports the integration of digital health solutions across the country.
The mission is structured around three key milestones:
Milestone 1: Creation, capture, and verification of the ABHA number, for seamless patient registration, using Aadhaar.
Milestone 2: Building Health Information Provider services to share digital records via Personal Health Records.
Milestone 3: Developing Health Information User services to provide view of patient’s medical history to doctors in ABDM empanelled hospitals.
