A Story of Survival, Healing and Hope!

Welcome, a 14-year-old German Shepherd (a breed of dog), found himself in a heartbreaking condition – abandoned, emaciated, and suffering from a massive maggot-infested wound on his side. When he was brought to the Shrimad Rajchandra Animal Nursing Home, he was dehydrated and weighed just 13 kg. The veterinary team immediately began life-saving care, starting with IV fluids and meticulous wound cleaning under local anaesthesia. Despite the pain, his appetite was strong which gave signs of hope for the medical team as well.

Over the following weeks, with dedicated medical attention, nourishing food, and a safe environment, Welcome gained strength, explored his surroundings, and steadily his weight increased to 19 kgs. However, further examination revealed a decayed tooth and a splenic lymphoma tumour. Both were treated surgically, and the dog responded remarkably well. 10 weeks later, Welcome is playful, loving, and thriving – a symbol of resilience.
