The sight of poor and underprivileged people, living on the streets and famished due to hunger, is indeed heart wrenching. While tons of food is wasted in restaurants and festive functions each day, it is an irony that there are lakhs of people who are still deprived of this bare minimum necessity in life. The United Nations reports that hunger and malnutrition are the biggest risks to health— greater than AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis combined.
