With a heavy heart, we announce Ilaben Patel an ardent devotee of Dada Bhagwan and a long-time follower of Pujya Deepakbhai, peacefully passed away on May 22nd, 2023 in Long Island. Ilaben is survived by her husband, Purnesh Patel, and by son Nilesh Patel (f. Amy Wochos), daughter Neha Sanghvi (m. Hardik Sanghvi), and 2 grandchildren (Hriti and Rishi). Ilaben was born in Gujarat, India and immigrated by herself to the United States in 1974. She self-educated herself to become a Registered Nurse and paved the way for the family to settle here. As a result of her hard work and dedication, her husband and 4 year old son were able to settle here in the US in 1976. After initial struggles as a first generation immigrant, the family established solid roots in the US. While working long hours, they managed to raise a family with strong cultural values along with a mindset to stand on your own two feet and take care of others. Prior to her death, her wish was that her body would be donated for educational purposes. With her wish in our hearts, we have donated her body to Hofstra University for educational purposes. Ilaben had an affinity for helping others and as a tribute to her, we are setting up this fundraising campaign in her memory. In lieu of flowers, the family asks to donate to Shrimad Rajchandra Love & Care (Educational care initiative) to help educate low income children for a better future.
