As you might know, we've had the blessing to volunteer for Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care USA (SRLC USA), which is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of the underprivileged across the world.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, SRLC has launched many initiatives in the US, India, and across the world to help those affected by the crisis with volunteers working around the clock to provide support and relief to those in need. Here are a few ways SRLC has responded to the emerging needs:

To date, SRLC has served over 2.1 million meals, distributed 2.1 million masks and over 7,600 PPE kits, trained 150 medical professionals in the proper use of ventilators, and so much more. While these numbers alone are impressive, what is truly incredible are the lives that have been touched in the process.

• $100 - Support a Family: support a family of four individuals for one month until they're able to get back on their feet
• $10 - Monthly Groceries: provide groceries to a daily wage-earner for a month
• $2 - Support a Frontliner: sponsor the preparation and distribution of one meal to a doctor, nurse, or first responder
• $1 - Feeding Animals: provide food to stray animals during the crisis
• Any amount:
  Self-Sustainability Fund: empowers individuals and families that lost jobs due to the crisis
  Supplies and Equipment: support frontline workers and hospitals with PPE, ventilators, disposables, and other essential medical equipment

INDIA

In India, the situation is unbelievably dire. Daily wage workers, many of whom are stranded, are without an income or savings and cannot feed themselves, let alone their families. They have nowhere to go. SRLC responded with a grassroot level "Circle of Love and Care" initiative by connecting micro contributions of food to migrant workers. In Mumbai, a total of 2,270,000 nutritious theplas (turmeric Indian flatbread) were distributed in just 21 days to over 981,000 migrant workers and daily wage-earners.

USA

Here in the US, 24 centers across the country have been able to touch 25,000 lives. 6,000 masks have been distributed, 3,000 hygiene kits have been offered, and over 8,000 lbs of food have been donated to local food pantries. Volunteers conducted a motorcade to celebrate our superheroes -- our frontliners -- and donated PPE, equipment, and supplies to these frontliners.
