A farming initiative enabled 300 tribal women to cultivate marigold and shift towards higher-income, short-duration commercial farming.
Through the Consolidated Community Development programme, Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care implemented the Floriculture for Change initiative to support tribal communities through sustainable, income-generating agriculture.
This initiative introduced floriculture as a short-duration commercial crop, enabling women farmers to move beyond subsistence farming. This initiative witnessed remarkable participation, with over 300 tribal women farmers across 11 villages successfully cultivating marigold. To support this effort, over 30,000 saplings were distributed – 100 saplings per farmer – ensuring uniform and equitable access to resources. Additional support was also provided to Below Poverty Line farmers.
Beyond income diversification, the initiative increased awareness of sustainable farming practices and encouraged a shift toward market-oriented agriculture – strengthening long-term livelihood resilience.
