Healthcare Initiatives for Rural Children

Shrimad Rajchandra Hospital and Research Centre commemorated World Cerebral Palsy Day, a global day of action aimed at raising awareness of cerebral palsy—a group of disorders that affect movement, muscle tone, and posture due to damage to the developing brain. Cerebral Palsy affects millions worldwide, and this day is celebrated annually to promote understanding and support for affected children and their families. Experienced doctors joined around 30 children and their parents in the event. The day began with a lamp-lighting ceremony followed by an insightful talk by renowned paediatric orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Ashima Choudhary Sahetia on managing cerebral palsy, followed by an interactive Q&A session. Children presented heartfelt performances, while few parents shared inspiring stories of their children’ progress. The event concluded with cake-cutting, snacks, and refreshments, fostering a sense of bonding and hope.

In another instance, a specialised paediatric orthopaedic camp was held, providing care to over 55 children from the community. The camp, led by experienced paediatric orthopaedic surgeons included free consultations, investigations, medications, and surgeries. Parents also received guidance on prevention and management of orthopaedic conditions, emphasising long-term health for their children.

These initiatives reinforce the hospital’s dedication to providing high-quality, accessible care for all children.
