Thousands of youth, from more than 20 countries, participated in the fourth edition of the Global Youth Festival at the Shrimad Rajchandra Ashram Dharampur. This mega event gave them several opportunities for self-development as well as impact projects for the upliftment of tribal communities.
The youth undertook several environmental care activities like making eco-friendly seed diyas. Crafted from a blend of cow dung and soil, housing 4 to 5 seeds in their seeding stage. It mirrors the seedball concept, offering a chance for life to sprout from its core. A seed diya is more than a source of light, it is a vessel of growth.
Using the diya takes on a dual purpose, for lighting as well as can grow into a sapling. Once the ceremonial rituals conclude, this eco-friendly diya can be upturned, watered, and transformed into a plant-growing sapling. Activities like these foster a mindset of responsible consumerism in the youth.
