Shrimad Rajchandra Animal Nursing Home(SRANH) effectively addressed a tongue tumour in a 4-year-old, Labrador through a Subtotal Glossectomy under general anaesthesia.
Constituting less than 4% of oral and pharyngeal cases in domestic animals, tongue tumours are primarily Squamous Cell Carcinomas (SCC), making up 50% of instances. The assessment, guided by factors like differentiation and tissue invasion within the grading system, revealed critical insights. Furthermore, the consideration of radiation, especially for SCC, emerged as a potential adjunct therapy.
This procedure exemplifies SRANH’s commitment to advanced veterinary care, ensuring optimal outcomes for our animal companions.
