February marked a month of love and community outreach for the Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care London centre. Over 60 volunteers gathered to spread love and care to various organisations, including Watford Three Rivers Trust Watford, St Luke’s Hospice Kenton and Peace Hospice, Watford.
On Valentine’s Day, these volunteers transformed an ordinary Tuesday into a day of joy, distributing hampers filled with goodies and personalised messages to patients, members and staff. The unexpected tokens of love created a beautiful atmosphere of gratitude and happiness, as volunteers spent time connecting with recipients.
In parallel, as part of the Warm Spaces initiative by Hertsmere Council, SRMD London Spiritual Centre opened its doors twice a month to create a supportive environment for the local community. Attendees gathered to share thoughts and combat loneliness, fostering improved community wellbeing.
During a session attended by the Mayor of Hertsmere and his wife, participants engaged in writing cards for Valentine’s gift packs, which would later be distributed to hospice patients and staff as a gesture of appreciation and love. The event included Qi gong exercises and a short meditation, providing attendees with opportunities to learn about different spiritual practices and share new viewpoints.
The consolidated efforts of volunteers helped make a positive impact, thereby creating a ripple effect of love and care, and support within the local community.
