A pregnant goat was treated by the medical team of Shrimad Rajchandra Mobile Veterinary Service during an outreach visit, when its owner noticed concerning signs of weight-loss, fever and overall lethargy.
The team diagnosed the goat with dystocia, a condition describing a difficult or abnormal labour and offspring-delivery in animals.
Immediately, medicines were administered and a physical examination revealed that the goat’s foetus had deceased. It was a heart-wrenching moment, emphasising the urgency of the situation.
The team then performed a life-saving emergency cesarean section, ensuring the goat’s safety and well-being. Gradually, signs of progress were witnessed as the goat progressed towards a full recovery!
