Urmilaben’s baby girl was born with an extremely low birth-weight of less than 1kg at Shrimad Rajchandra Hospital and Research Centre, Dharampur. On birth, she had severe respiratory issues, combined with a very low oxygen level.
She was then shifted to the NICU, where she was put on ventilator support for a week, as well as given CPAP therapy (continuous positive airway pressure) for 3 weeks. Continuous diagnosis and recovery tests were conducted during this time to ensure effective and accurate treatment.
Gradually, the baby’s condition improved and she was discharged with an improved weight of 1.5kgs. The doctor assigned to this case shared, “every time we unite a healthy baby with their mother, the joy is unfathomable. In paediatrics, getting a child to laugh is one of the most rewarding things we experience!”
