Accreditation from the United Nations Environment Programme

March 01, 2022 | Environmental Care

Accreditation from the United Nations Environment Programme

By the grace of Param Krupalu Dev and guidance of Pujya Gurudevshri, Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care has officially been granted accreditation as an observer to the governing body of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)! This prestigious recognition will allow the Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care to directly participate in the work being done by UNEP and affect actionable change at the highest level within the realm of sustainability and environment.

This accreditation comes after a long-standing and ongoing involvement with the UNEP – in June 2021, Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care was conferred the ‘Faith for Earth Councilor’ title, and in March 2022, it announced a collaborative effort with the UNEP to launch the ‘Faith for Earth Empathy Leadership’ (FEEL) Programme, a global environmental education course designed for the youth.

Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care underwent a thorough and careful assessment conducted by the Governance Affairs Office of the UNEP before receiving this accreditation. With this, Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care joins an exclusive list of organisations that receive invitations to observe all public meetings and sessions of the United Nations Environment Assembly and its subsidiary bodies. It will now be among less than 40 organisations across India with this accreditation. It also joins the ranks of various other global stalwarts within this field such as the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and Greenpeace International.

The accreditation affords a list of privileges and benefits for participation in the working of the UNEP, including the ability to make oral statements during the discussions of the United Nations Environmental Assembly, as well as circulate written statements to various world governments through the UNEP secretariat.

This esteemed recognition is yet another feather in the cap for Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care’s Environmental Care Programme, which is now poised to spread Pujya Gurudevshri’s vision for developing a ‘culture of compassion’ across the globe!
