According to the state health department data, Gujarat has over 1.1 lakh tuberculosis (TB) patients under treatment across 33 districts. In order to tackle this grave condition which can badly affect the lungs and even be a cause of death, the Government of Gujarat has resolved to make the state free from the disease by 2025.
Supporting this initiative, Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care adopted 80 tuberculosis patients from over 40 villages, identified by the health officers of Dharampur taluka. Under this initiative, Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care will manage the nutritional requirements of these patients for a year, under the guidance of state health officials. The project was flagged off with nutrition kits being handed over to the health officers at the District TB Centre, Dharampur in the presence of dignitaries including Shri Arvindbhai Patel – Member of Legislative Assembly, Dharampur; Dr. Anil Patel – Chief District Health Officer, Valsad and Dr. Harjeetpal Singh – District TB Officer, Valsad. This initiative will go a long way in providing physical and emotional support to these patients while they undergo treatment.
