Shrimad Rajchandra Cattle Rehabilitation Programme provides cattle with a home – instead of a slaughterhouse – by rehabilitating them to farmers.
Many animal sanctuaries in India are running beyond their operational capacity. To help reduce the burden on these animal sanctuaries and provide assistance to local farmers, Shrimad Rajchandra Cattle Rehabilitation Programme helps to match healthy cattle with farmers who could use the cattle for ploughing fields and other activities, while the cattle get a safe home.
Farmers can apply for cattle through this programme by filling up an application. Once the applications are received, our volunteers visit the farmers to assess whether they will be able and willing to care for the animal properly. Once the cattle are given to the farmers, we take follow-up checks every 3 months to ensure that the animals are kept well and are in good health.
