As a 12th standard graduate student, 23-year-old Mustakim Khan Ahmed, was having trouble finding a job that interested him. An aspiring entrepreneur, he was more interested in starting his own business.
Mustakim came across Shrimad Rajchandra Skill Development Centre, a place where rural youth receive vocational and soft skills training at no cost. Mustakim enrolled in the Mobile Repairing Course, through which he learned about mobile phone circuits, screen lamination, checking battery status etc. Over the 150-hour course, he not only received practical knowledge about mobile phones, but also received exposure to basic accounting, computers, and soft-skills training.
Confident in his skills and abilities, Mustakim took the step of opening his own shop for mobile handset repairs and sales in Dharampur, Gujarat. He also encouraged his brother to enrol in Shrimad Rajchandra Skill Development Centre, and today they run a flourishing and successful business together!
The Shrimad Rajchandra Skill Development Centre continues to play an important role in spreading vocational education in the rural areas of South Gujarat.
