Volunteers of the Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care San Francisco Centre distributed hand-crafted port pillows to cancer patients, with the aim of providing them comfort during long drives. Port pillows are rectangular pillows that chemotherapy patients often use with a seatbelt to relieve pressure and possible irritation around the chemo port.
Volunteers conducted this distribution across locations such as Cancer Care Point in San Jose, Kaiser Permanente Hospital, San Leandro and Bay Area Cancer Connections (BACC), Palo Alto.
It was a fulfilling experience for volunteers, knowing that the hand-stitched pillows made by them would provide great comfort to those courageously battling cancer every single day.
