Waste Management

There is minimal waste discharge outside the Ashram premises, made possible by using an organic waste composter and biogas plant. After a methodical categorisation of waste from the source (i.e. using different coloured bins for collecting different types of waste), the waste is treated in the following ways:

  1. Wet Waste and Dry Leaves: Converted into compost for plants or biogas using a composter
  2. Plastic Waste: Washed and used for resale
  3. Paper Waste: Recycled
  4. Medical Waste: Incinerated
  5. E-Waste: Resale / Recycle
