An inspirational entrepreneurial story from rural Gujarat

In today’s competitive job market, 21-year old Sapnil Kurungada and his younger brother, Ravindra were finding it difficult to get employment, especially since they had dropped out of school in the 10th standard.
 
They enrolled in the Mobile Handset Repairing Course at Shrimad Rajchandra Skill Development Centre, Dharampur, a place where rural youth receive vocational and soft skills training at no cost. Over the 180-hour course, they were trained in repairing mobile phone circuits, screen lamination, checking battery status, etc.
 
They were also exposed to relevant skills like basic computer knowledge and learnt crucial soft skills like effective communication. As a part of the course, they were both offered on-the-job trainings at two different mobile shops to gain practical experience and enhance their skillset.
 
Post course completion, they were awarded with an NSDC National Skill Development Corporation accredited certificate along with an equipment kit, using which they could freelance from home in their spare time.
Through these trainings, they developed confidence in their abilities and have recently opened a mobile shop, R S Mobile in their own village. It is heart-warming to see how young talent can shine when they are given the right opportunity and training!
