Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care organised a cooking competition to mark the completion of first batch of culinary course in Mumbai.The competition was organised in a slum, involving 32 women from diverse communities, who took up the challenge of making Jain food.
Volunteers guided them with various recipes, ideas and in-depth explanation of cooking process The team taught various modules like snacks, sweets, mukhwaas, chikki, fast-food items and chocolates amidst many constraints, with utmost dedication and passion. The participants shared their amusement on how delicious food can be even cooked without onions, garlic and potatoes.
The participants worked hard to put up a grand display of their recently acquired skills, of which three groups were chosen as winners based on criteria of taste, presentation and innovation. The session ended with prize distribution for winners, certificate distribution to all participants and experience sharing. Many participants got empowered with boosted confidence and cooking orders which will also support their family income.
