Spanning the various states of the United States, the volunteers of Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care (USA) have been spreading cheer and joy amongst the underprivileged, this festive season!
Volunteers of Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care, Austin visited the Austin Retirement and Nursing Center to spend some quality time with the elderly. They interacted with the inmates and played games like Bingo, leaving behind happy smiles and memories in their hearts.
With a rise in the cases of human trafficking, the victims struggle with basic necessities at time. Volunteers of Philadelphia partnered with a local charity, Redeemed for a Cause, to help these victims. They collected essentials such as clothes, hygiene kits, shoes, toys, which were then donated to the charity.
Meanwhile, volunteers of Indianapolis spent valuable moments with the kids at the Boys and Girls Club of Bloomington, a local non-profit dedicated to providing a safe and engaging environment for children after school, until their parents can take them home. The volunteers spent time with the children and engaged with them in activities like making crafts, playing games, etc.
Many homeless people in the United States lack access to even the most basic necessities like hygiene products. Volunteers of Manhattan prepared and distributed about 200 hygiene kits to the homeless residing in a local shelter. Similarly, volunteers of Houston also prepared survival kits and snack packs for the homeless in Houston.
Volunteers of Toronto partnered with many local charities to distribute essentials to those in need. About 50 clothing items, 750 kgs of food products, hygiene products like toothbrush, toothpaste and sanitary napkins were distributed to over 200 underprivileged immigrant women at the South Asian Women’s Centre.
Over 1750 kgs of food items, hygiene products like toothpaste, toothbrush and sanitary napkins were donated to Seva Food Bank, a charity serving food and essentials to approximately 800 low-income families in and around Ontario.
About 250 pairs of gently used clothing and 50 pairs of footwear were donated to a charity, Helping Hands Street Mission which caters to the underprivileged youth with mental illness, addiction issues, etc.
Volunteers of Austin served food to the homeless community. They prepared and served breakfast including sandwiches, juice, etc. to over 85 homeless people on the streets of Austin.
Volunteers from San Diego joined hands with a local charity catering to the kids from low income backgrounds. About 50 snack bags containing items like juice, popcorn, fruit, etc. were donated.
Volunteers of Parsippany participated in an event organised by Parsippany Troy-Hills Township. An interactive booth was set up to encourage value-based learning in the spirit of Halloween. Goody bags containing candies and inspirational quotes were prepared and distributed to over 700 kids and their families. Over 2000 people visited the booth along with the Parsippany Township Mayor, Mr. Michael Sorian.
Touching the lives of thousands across the various states with the tender touch of love and care, these initiatives lit up their days and added a spark of joy and comfort!
